September 13, 2006: Diclofenac Link to Cardiovascular Risks
The Journal of the American Medical Association released its report stating that diclofenac brings potential risks for heart attack or stroke similar with those related with Vioxx and recommends that diclofenac must not be used by patients with heart problems history and hypertension. While US Food and Drug Administration cannot find the findings conclusive yet but it calls for more reviews. Then, in April 2005, FDA gave an instruction that all prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs, including diclofenac , must put a “black box”.
