July 13, 2006: Study Suggests Evista Raises Risks of Stroke and Blood Clot

Clinical trials and studies revealed that Evista, a drug for osteoporosis, may lower the risks of invasive breast cancer among the postmenopausal women. There was a recent study that was made and published by the New England Journal of Medicine stated that menopausal women who used Evista  developed less cases of breast cancer compared to women who are using placebo, the former also has more chances for fatal stroke and harmful blood clots.

May 10, 2005: FDA Warns Consumers on Counterfeit Drugs Purchased in Mexico

US Food and Drug Administration has warned the general public about the sale of the counterfeit versions of drugs which include an unapproved promoted as “generic Evista.” These fake drugs are marketed to US consumers at pharmacies in Mexican boarder places. FDA, in coordination with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy have reviewed  and analyzed the “generic Evista” and found it to contain no active harmful ingredients.
